In the town of Fairmarsh, things aren't as they seem. Little more than a widening in the road, Fairmarsh is one of those places that people only visit when they stumble upon it in the dead of night by making a wrong turning. Let's hope you're allowed to leave, though, because people are bought and sold as a matter of course.
In Fairmarsh, there are three types of people. It doesn't matter if you're a blood sucker, a shape changer, a magic user, or just plain human, these three types are all that matters. Masters own anything that they want, be that a holiday home on the coast, or a person. Yes, Masters have slaves. Usually only one or two, but the more eccentric could have up to five. Slaves have no choice in the matter, being bought and sold as the Masters see fit, and with very few rights. They are sold into slavery to reduce debts, or they are captured and sold by wandering merchants for extra profit. The final category isn't welcome in Fairmarsh, but they pretend not to notice. The Roamers actively work to free slaves and dispose of Masters, but they have to be careful – the Masters are staging something big.
So whether you're a victim of slavery, or benefiting from it, or are trying to abolish it, there's a place for you in Fairmarsh. If you have the guts.
