HEY JUDE, DON’T MAKE IT BAD TAKE A SAD SONG AND MAKE IT BETTER

HEY JUDE, DON’T BE AFRAID YOU WERE MADE TO GO OUT AND GET HER
hair color: Dark Brown eye color: Hazel special features: While Elijah almost constantly wears his glasses, he actually does own a pair of contacts for special circumstances. However, whenever he takes off his glasses, there is a small indent left on his nose where the bridge of his glasses usually presses into his skin. By the time the mark is about to fade away, Eli is putting his glasses back on again. clothes: Elijah's fashion sense when it comes to formal affairs isn't as bad as one would expect. He knows how to put on a tie and suit on without looking sloppy, and he does himself a favor by sticking with classic colors . No, it's when Eli has to work with casual clothing that all things go to hell. There's just too much freedom with choices! Eli doesn't really bother with trying to impress others with his clothing styles anymore. Over time he has discovered that this usually just leads to him over-analyzing his choices and looking even more of a Melvin than usual. Dressing for comfort, he wears a lot of hoodies, t-shirts, and jeans (though some stereotypical nerdy plaid and layers mysteriously find their way into his collection sometimes)
HEY JUDE, DON’T LET ME DOWN YOU HAVE FOUND HER, NOW GO AND GET HER
likes: cooking, food in general, racket sports, comics, mathematical logic, music, animation, whistling, when girls pay attention to him...in a good way, chemistry, explosions, gory horror films, being liked by teachers, computers, morbid jokes, sarcasm, suave and admirable men, subjects with a clear answers/rules, eating, smart people, reptiles, the color grey, staying up late, good grades, his mother dislikes: the school hierarchy and especially being on the bottom of it, his birthday being on christmas, getting anything lower than a b, english classes, running, cigarette smoke, idiots, making quick decisions, football, slutty girls and manwhores, being stuck in a school group with slackers, psychiatrists/psychologists/counselors, getting a physical, clothes-shopping, talents: cooking, drawing cartoons, math, science, hopes: to go to an ivy-league school and to find a way to double major in mathematics and culinary arts fears: needles, mental illness, failure, and chaos member group:nerds and junior personality: At first glance, Eli seems to be your typical nerd. He stays up late into the night to study, excels at math and science, has a stash of comic books in his dorm, and seems to lack the social abilities most people were naturally given. And those people who look no further aren't wrong to label him as a nerd. Elijah certainly does have a lot of dorkish qualities. Though he was born with the gift of intelligence, he still pushes himself to maintain a near perfect track record when it comes to academics. Unless one is extremely close to Eli, friends and hanging out typically comes second to his schoolwork. Within group work, he is not above urging his peers to focus or work harder. The less he knows and trusts the people he's working with, the worse he gets. This tends to gives him the unappealing appearance of a killjoy to most. While school does make him a tightass at least 70% of the time, he can be relaxed under the right conditions. Generally, he gets along better with a small group of equally intelligent/nerdy friends. Unless forced to do so, he doesn't wander into the other social classes. With friends, he becomes more of a goofball, talking animatedly about whatever has recently interested him. (usually while stuffing his face with food) Though different than his usual behavior, his actions around his friends still keeps him safely in the nerd zone.
Unseen to most is that Elijah has a dark and rather unstable streak in his personality. He enjoys his movies with a lot of gore and violence and often finds the occasional sob-story about a horrible deadly accident that he gets told funny rather than sad. He is largely apathetic to other people's pain (with the exception of his family and closest friends), and in the case of the so-called "royals" he can even revel in their misery. While he is rarely violent himself, Eli is governed by the school rules and knowledge he'd probably loose a fight much more than his moral compass. His willingness to follow the school rules is also mostly self-serving. Being a largely ambitious individual, he knows that to get ahead he must keep a clean record. In addition, Elijah enjoys structures to combat his own instability. He is poor at making quick decisions under a lot of pressure. Surprisingly, this applies to his actions much more than it does to his verbal ability. Elijah thankfully has a quick wit that he uses to occasionally lash out at those that bully him. It's only when it comes to actually doing something other than spitting out sarcastic remarks that he struggles. Eli tends to bury his problems with decision-making inside, causing him to sometimes blow up from the pressure. He has been to counslers before, though he does little to help them treat him.
In short, Elijah is just a nerd with some quirky anxiety issues and a penchant for the dark side of life.

mother: Sarah Adelstein, 48, School Teacher, Living father: Jeremiah Adelstein, 51, Small Business Owner, Living siblings: Abbey Adelstein, 14, Student at Public School, Living other family: Rachel Barsky, 51, Mental Institution Patient, Aunt, Deceased background: Elijah was born in a small suburb outside of Manchester, New Hampshire to a close Jewish couple. They had waited a bit late to have a child and when Eli did come it was a huge affair. While with other kids born into the middle-class suburbs like him he may have seemed a bit spoiled, it was nothing compared to how some kids at Mount Oliver had been spoiled. He was labeled gifted at a young age, going into a GEM program in his primary school. At the same time, however, he was also labeled as a child that may develop a personality disorder. He was a selective mute when he was younger, only speaking around his family and writing down answers in classwork. Since mental disorder ran in his family (his aunt was schizophrenic), everyone kept a special eye on any abnormal behavior he showed. Luckily, he grew out of his muteness around sixth grade and began to accelerate in learning even faster. He took an early ACT test in 7th grade, scoring a 26. This gained the attention of some private schools, and he entered Mount Olivier (since it was the closest) for 9th grade. Next time he takes the ACT test, he hopes to get over 30.
